Solusi Repository CentOS 6 yang sudah End of Life (EOL)

Untuk beberapa server  yang tidak dimungkinkan untuk upgrade OS dari CentOS 6 ke CentOS 7 atau 8 mau tidak mau harus tetap bisa digunakan untuk kepeluan update/install/remove. Karena sudah EOL tentunya sudah tidak bisa lagi mendapatkan update sehingga pasti akan menyebabkan proses install/update akan terhambat/gagal.

Berikut informasi resmi repository dari CentOS 6 = http://mirror.centos.org/centos/6/readme

Please keep in mind that 6.0, 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4 , 6.5, 6.6, 6.7, 6.8 , 6.9 and 6.10 no longer get any updates, norany security fix's.The whole CentOS 6 is *dead* and *shouldn't* be used anywhere at *all*

Yakni, gunakan CentOS Vault repository. caranya juga simple yakni cuma ganti url repository.

curl https://www.getpagespeed.com/files/centos6-eol.repo --output /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Base.repo

* Backup dulu Centos-Base.repo sebelumnya ya :)

Setelah itu bisa lakukan proses yum upgrade untuk mendapatkan update sampai ke CentOS 6.10

Berikut hasilnya dari CentOS 6.8 (Final) menjadi CentOS 6.10 (Final):

[root@idcloud02 ~]# more /etc/redhat-release
CentOS release 6.8 (Final)
[root@idcloud02 ~]# more /etc/redhat-release
CentOS release 6.10 (Final)
